Post Operation Sindoor, Pakistan is rebuilding damaged infra near IB BSF

Jammu, Nov 29 (UNI) Inspector General (IG) Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu Frontier, Shashank Anand said on Saturday that Pakistan is rebuilding the damaged infrastructure near the international border post Operation Sindoor.
"As BSF caused severe damage to infrastructure across the border during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has started rebuilding it's infrastructure and bunkers. We are keeping a close watch on the other side of the fence,'' Shashank Anand told reporters at the annual Press Conference here.
The BSF official said that as per inputs, 72 launching pads are active close to the border. "Pakistan is not using these launching pads on a regular basis but only when they have to push terrorists into the Indian Territory. These camps are activated to support the infiltration," he said.
He, however, said "We are maintaining all vigil and will respond appropriately at appropriate time as per the directions of the government."
As of now, he said, "the situation is normal and farmers are gearing up for cultivating crops close to the border."
On the damage caused to the infrastructure and fencing due to flash floods and heavy rains in the month of August, he said, "due to recent flash floods and heavy rains, border fencing suffered heavy damages and post floods. Home Minister Amit Shah also visited the affected areas. We ensured to secure our borders in one month and have augmented our border grid three times more from the previous situation."
"As far as counter infiltration and narco-terrorism are concerned, we have taken lot of measures. Narco smuggling is linked to terrorism but security forces are adopting every approach to curb this," he stated.
Anand said that BSF is well aware of the prevailing situation. "Our troops are well equipped and with the use of hi-tech gadgets, we are maintaining close surveillance on the borders. We never lower our guard and use anti-fog, anti-tunnelling technology to counter all nefarious designs of the enemy."
He said that there are no inputs of fresh infiltration, adding, "Round the clock we are on alert and maintain vigil on every activity all along the border in the Jammu Frontier. We want to ensure the people that BSF is guarding you and standing for you 24x7."
